Bolshevik taking over Prague underground for 2 days

Those Prague passengers, who can remember the life behind the Iron Curtain, must feel the Bolshevik has returned. What else can occur in your mind, when riding Prague underground and strict woman’s voice announcing: “Next stop: Leninova (Lenin´s) or Gottwaldova (Gottwald´s ).

Some hearts might even stop beating for a while. It is not a pleasure to return suddenly to those days, when you had to queue even to get a roll of low-quality toilet paper. But to have something positive in this report, Red Terror is back only for 2 days and only on C or red line of Prague underground, until shooting of a new documentary on Ivan Medek is completed. The working title of this documentary is “On bravery, dumpling eaters and lazy orchestra”.

Ivan Medek, Czechoslovak dissident and former speaker of Voice of America, narrated this old-times underground announcement. A lof of people following the foreign broadcast before 1989 can remember Medek´s voice very well, he is especially famous his line: “This is Ivan Medek and you are listening to Voice of America.”

Czech television spokesman Martin Krafl says that the documentary makers want to find out if people can still recognize Medek´s voice. “They ride the underground train with the passengers and shoot their reactions when Medek announcing – Next stop: Muscovite.

Twelve underground stops were renamed on February 22nd, 1990 and Leninova became Dejvická or Muscovite was changed to Anděl.

Swiss stags helping local police

Hi all, let´s open this new-born blog with something funny. My original idea was to write about funny stuff happening in CR but when I saw this piece of news on Internet this morning, I just could not help myself. First, I sent to almost all my friends and colleagues, and now I want to share it with you...and with you too, yes and with you...
Although they did not mean that, swis stags helped Swiss police to disclose a field where marijuana was grown. Being hungry and probably attracted by gorgeous smell, stags started to chew the tasteful plant and literally went for a trip. Residents of nearby village had noticed the stags were not "in their skin", as we Czechs say when want to say that somebody doesn´t feel very well. Well, in that case it is highly arguable, guess the stags felt pretty good even they did not look like it.
Anyway, back to our true story, as we all know that the effects are not the same, some of the stags were not peaceful and jsut wandered around with their eyes widely open, some of them actually started to attack people, it is said some of them visited the village and demanded to be allowed to go shopping in the local shop. As you can ´t hide anything when living in small village, the local authorities started to sniff around and eventually found legal piece of land full of illegal plants. Two men are held in custody now and animals behave in normal way again, trying to survive on "ordinary" grass.
